WOODEN MONKEY DINNER
I am pleased to announce that our next dinner will be hosted by the Wooden Monkey (Dartmouth location) - our first visit to this restaurant - on Wednesday, September 2 at 6 pm. It will be a 4 course dinner (another first) and, although not mentioned on the menu, will include a taster of NS white or red wine, or one of their NS craft brewed beers (also firsts). It will also include coffee or tea with the dessert.
A bit more expensive than most of our dinners, but excellent value. The cost of the dinner is $27 and includes the 4 course meal with tasters, tax and gratuity. Please contact us at halifaxvegetarians@gmail.com for a copy of the menu and/or to reserve a place at the dinner.

GREEK DINNER
Our next dinner will be a return to ela! Greek Taverna in the Bayers Lake Business Park on Saturday, July 25th 6 pm. They will offer platters of their many vegetarian and vegan menu items for $17 per person, plus beverages, tax and gratuity (age 10 and under free). This allows you to sample.

Dinner at Mexico Lindo
Hello Members and Friends,
Again this year we are hosting a vegetarian/vegan buffet, 6 PM on Monday, May 25th at Mexico Lindo (3635 Dutch Village Road). We return to Mexico Lindo each year because this unique buffet of authentic Mexican cuisine is fabulous! The buffet break-down is included below.
Cost of the buffet (including drink and dessert) is $18.50 (+ tax) per person. Payment can be made at the dinner.
Everyone is welcome, however due to limited seating, a reservation is required by return email.

In a bed of greens slice mango, avocado, tomato, carrots and pumpkin seeds.
POBLANO CREAM SOUP
Creamy soup made with poblano peppers and corn nibblets.
GREEN CHILAQUILES
Tortilla chips cooked in tomatillo salsa topped with melted cheese,cilantro, onion and sour cream.

DINNER AT JUST SPRING ROLL
Just Spring Roll, first level of Park Lane on Spring Garden Road, will host a dinner on Sunday, May 10, at 6 pm. The menu will include Mango Juice, Vietnamese Tofu salad , Spring Rolls, Tofu with lemon-grass & ginger, Tofu curry, Stir-fried vegetables, House Fried rice, Steam rice, Pad Thai, Jasmin tea / Coffee. With the exception of one item, this dinner is completely vegan.
Cost will be $15 - no tax/gratuity. Payment at dinner must be CASH or CHEQUE to HAV. Everyone welcome, but we will only accept 20 reservations for this dinner due to limited seating. The previous dinner at Just Spring Roll sold out.

DINNER AT CHEELIN
The Halifax Association of Vegetarians will host a dinner on Sunday April 12th, 6 pm at the Cheelin Restaurant in the Brewery Market, 1496 Lower Water St. in Halifax.
Cheelin does not use msg, and sources it’s ingredients from local suppliers whenever possible.
Cost is $18 plus tax and gratuity. Coffee or tea is included, but other drinks are additional. Children, age 15 and under, eat for 1/2 price.

DINNER AT SALVATORE'S PIZZA
Our first dinner of 2015 will be hosted by Salvatore's Pizza (5541 Young St.) on Monday, February 23rd, 7-9 pm for a members only dinner, but no need to miss it, as you can renew or obtain a membership at the dinner. No speaker, as we will have a short annual general meeting to review the past year and discuss our plans for 2015.
All ten of Salvatore's vegetarian pizzas will be available for sampling. The dinner will include both pizza and salad, and is vegan friendly. Please note if you are vegan when making your reservation. The staff of Salvatore's enjoyed our last visit and plan to again be creative.
Our cost is $15 each, plus beverages, tax and gratuity. A bargain for pizza sampling.
