DINNER AT MEXICO LINDO
We are hosting a vegetarian/vegan buffet, 6 PM on Monday, May 2nd at
Mexico Lindo (3635 Dutch Village Road). We return to Mexico Lindo
each year because this unique buffet of authentic Mexican cuisine is
fabulous and much less expensive than a trip to Mexico.
This is one of our most popular dinners with limited seating, everyone

Our first dinner of 2016 will be
hosted by Salvatore's Pizza (5541 Young St.) on Monday, January 25, 7-9
pm for a members only dinner, but no need to miss it, as you can renew
or obtain a membership at the dinner. No speaker, as we will have a
short annual general meeting to review the past year and discuss our
plans for 2016.
All ten of Salvatore's vegetarian pizzas will be available for sampling. The dinner will include both pizza and salad, and is vegan friendly. Please note if you are vegan when making your reservation.

WOODEN MONKEY DINNER
I am pleased to announce that our next dinner will be hosted by the Wooden Monkey (Dartmouth location) - our first visit to this restaurant - on Wednesday, September 2 at 6 pm. It will be a 4 course dinner (another first) and, although not mentioned on the menu, will include a taster of NS white or red wine, or one of their NS craft brewed beers (also firsts). It will also include coffee or tea with the dessert.

DINNER AT JUST SPRING ROLL
Just Spring Roll, first level of Park Lane on Spring Garden Road, will host a dinner on Sunday, May 10, at 6 pm. The menu will include Mango Juice, Vietnamese Tofu salad , Spring Rolls, Tofu with lemon-grass & ginger, Tofu curry, Stir-fried vegetables, House Fried rice, Steam rice, Pad Thai, Jasmin tea / Coffee. With the exception of one item, this dinner is completely vegan.

DINNER AT CHEELIN
The Halifax Association of Vegetarians will host a dinner on Sunday April 12th, 6 pm at the Cheelin Restaurant in the Brewery Market, 1496 Lower Water St. in Halifax.
Cheelin does not use msg, and sources it’s ingredients from local suppliers whenever possible.
Cost is $18 plus tax and gratuity. Coffee or tea is included, but other drinks are additional. Children, age 15 and under, eat for 1/2 price.

LUNCH AT CAFE KARACHI
The Halifax Association of Vegetarians is hosting a lunch at Cafe Karachi (16 Titus Street/Halifax) that will feature the foods of Pakistan. Although the cafe in normally open 3 - 8 pm, our buffet lunch will be held on Friday, May 30th at 12 noon.
Everyone is welcome, as is the case with most of our events, but due to limited seating, we can only accept 14 reservations.
Cost is $15 per person plus beverage, and there is no tax or gratuity. Our events are always vegan friendly and most menu items are gluten free. The speaker will be Muhammad Aslam (the cafe owner), who will speak about the foods of the Indian subcontinent that includes India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Raw Foods Dinner at the Heartwood
The Halifax Association of Vegetarians is hosting a raw foods dinner at the Heartwood on Wednesday, October 30, at 6 pm. One of our most popular dinners of the year, this is an excellent opportunity to be introduced to the raw food diet, which is growing in popularity across Canada.
The dinner special will be a raw foods salad/dip platter. It will consist of a spinach/lettuce salad with nuts, veggies, local sprouts and a lemon tahini dressing. Along with the salad we will serve a fresh basil guacamole and a seed/nut pate. Specially made flat breads will be served along with the dips. For dessert we will have a raw foods nut/dried fruit ball with coconut.
